# tmux-ide 2.9.13

> Direct Rust GUI ownership, incremental terminal hashing and bounded native image delivery.

`2.9.13` accompanies native macOS alpha `0.1.8`, build `2026102601`.
The CLI/daemon and native app are separate installations; update both to use the
complete change.

## Direct native ownership

The native GUI now handles discovery, catalogs, agent operations and SSH
connections in Rust. Its normal startup path no longer starts the Node metadata
helper. Terminal cells and input already use the direct Rust connection.

The daemon updates cached terminal hashes from changed rows and negotiates
bounded lossless graphics compression with compatible clients. Older clients
retain their supported delivery path.

## Images and browser integration

Image delivery handles a backgrounded native window without disconnecting when
its image queue fills. Local macOS applications can publish authenticated native
pixel surfaces, with bounded storage, GPU retirement and Kitty fallback.

The repository includes a development integration patch for the external
terminal-browser project. It supports full browser chrome, automatic local
discovery and recovery after browser replacement. The browser is not bundled or
automatically updated by tmux-ide. This path copies pixels into IOSurface; it does
not provide zero-copy Chromium texture sharing or a new remote video transport.

## Updating

Update the CLI/daemon and the [native macOS app](/docs/native-alpha). Existing
tmux sessions remain intact. The automated and live GUI checks establish
correctness and recovery, not physical typing latency or GUI/TUI performance parity.
