# tmux-ide 2.9.11

> Native frame delivery, pane-switch typing, and stable terminal sizing.

`2.9.11` pairs with the separately distributed native macOS alpha `0.1.7`,
build `2026102201`. This release improves the native terminal delivery path
and fixes typing immediately after switching panes.

## Pane switching and terminal sizing

When you select another pane in the same window and immediately type, the native
app briefly holds the input until that exact pane is confirmed ready. Text,
paste, and keys retain their order. The hold is bounded and tied to the pane's
lifetime: a changed target, lost connection, or expired hold discards unsent
input instead of sending it elsewhere. Rejected input is not retried. If the
app reports an interruption, follow its recovery message, then retype the command.

Transient loading and error messages now overlay the terminal instead of
shrinking its grid. Pane-divider and whole-window resize gestures stage sizing
changes until geometry settles. History page navigation uses the selected
pane's content height rather than the height of the entire composed window.

## Frame delivery

Compatible native components negotiate compact frames and binary transport.
Incremental updates carry changed rows; a missing or incompatible baseline
requests a complete frame before input can resume. Frame and image ingestion
remain bounded, and older peers retain the existing snapshot path.

The live helper now runs within the browser process on the supported path,
removing an intermediate process and serialization step. Immutable terminal
rows are reused for validation and history byte accounting, avoiding repeated
work on unchanged content. These changes retain canonical terminal verification
and history rather than removing those checks to reduce work.

This release does not claim a measured speedup or parity with other native
terminals. A direct Rust connection to the daemon and zero-copy local image
delivery remain deferred; the native app still uses the bridge.

## Discovery and terminal UI recovery

Newly created panes can be admitted after verified discovery catches up with
their creation. In the terminal UI, an agent pane selection can survive a
bounded rebind when its identity remains valid. An uncertain selection command
is not sent again, and replacement panes or changed control ownership still
fail closed.

## Updating

Update the CLI and its running daemon to `2.9.11`. Install native alpha `0.1.7`
separately when it is available from the [native release page](/docs/native-alpha).
The CLI and native app are separate installations: publishing or installing the
CLI does not publish, install, or update the native app. Both updates are needed
for the matching native behavior described here.

Existing tmux sessions and the programs running in their panes are preserved.
